The Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association has warned of suspending public transportation operations from Monday (06).

President of the Association Gemunu Wijeratne said the decision has been taken due to the failure of the authorities to provide a system to grant sufficient diesel required for buses.

He said private buses operated over the last few days for the convenience of the students sitting for the GCE Ordinary Level examination.

Wijeratne said if a solution is not provided for their issues pertaining to diesel, then all private buses will suspend operations on Monday.

Despite several rounds of discussions being held with relevant authorities, no solutions have been provided as yet, he added. (NewsWire)
