The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has decided to sack Ministers Mahinda Amaraweera and Nimal Siripala de Silva from all party positions they hold.
Party Chairman Maithripala Sirisena said that the decision has been taken following a meeting of the Central Working Committee of the SLFP.
He further said that the SLFP will only endorse decisions that are taken for the benefit of the people of the nation while remaining in the opposition as an independent group in Parliament.
As certain party members had accepted ministerial portfolios, the SLFP has decided to sack them from all party positions they hold at present, MP Maithripala Sirisena added. (NewsWire)
