The BAR Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) has raised concerns over the indiscriminate arrests by the Police in relation to the violence which occurred in the wake of the incidents of the 9th of May 2022 and thereafter.
BASL has raised concerns in letters addressed to both, Attorney General Sanjay Rajaratnam and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) C.D. Wickremeratne.
In its letters, BASL has pointed out the partiality of the Police Department in carrying out investigations and making arrests over incidents of violence across the country. (NewsWire)
