Litro Gas Lanka says a request has been made from authorities to increase the price of domestic gas cylinders by Rs. 200.

Speaking to the media, the newly appointed Chairman of the company, Muditha Peiris said despite the price of Laugfs gas having increased, Litro Gas had not hiked prices.

He further revealed that a decision has been taken to purchase gas from the long-term distributor in Oman for the next four months.

Stating that initially it had been decided to purchase gas from Thailand, Muditha Peiris said that the distributor had quoted a price for a stock of 6000 MT of gas only.

However, the distributor in Oman has quoted a slightly higher price than the Thailand distributor, but for a minimum order of 100,000 MT of gas, while they have also vowed to supply gas for a period of 03 to 04 months, he explained.

The Litro Gas Chairman said thereby, a decision has been taken by the Cabinet to purchase gas from the distributor in Oman after taking into consideration the current gas requirements of Sri Lanka. (NewsWire)
