The body of a youth with cut injuries was found near Volpe Cross Road in the Moratumulla area last night.
The Police said that based on a tip-off the body was found with the hands and feet tied with a rope and the mouth plastered.
The youth is reported to have died as the Police were making arrangements to transfer him to the Panadura Hospital.
The identity of the youth is yet to be ascertained. It is presumed that the youth is between the age of 20-25 years and is 5 feet 6 inches in height.
The Police said he was found wearing a blue T-shirt and white pants.
The cause of the murder is unknown, while the Magisterial inquiry and postmortem examination will be conducted today. (NewsWire)
