The Court of Appeal has dismissed the writ application that was filed by former Minister Johnston Fernando seeking to prevent his arrest.
MP Fernando had filed the writ application after he was named as a suspect pertaining to the violence that unfolded at the Galle Face Green and near the Temple Trees in Colombo on May 09.
On June 09th, the Court of Appeal had instructed the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to refrain from enforcing the order issued by the Fort Magistrate’s Court to arrest the MP over the May 09 incidents. (NewsWire)
