Railway Trade Unions launch strike

July 1, 2022 at 1:20 PM

Several railway trade unions have launched a strike action with immediate effect, the Railway Trade Unions announced.

The railway trade unions engaged in the strike action include railway guards and engine drivers.

Earlier today, several trains were cancelled due to the railway staff being unable to report for duty.

Several long-distance and office trains had been cancelled as a result.

Meanwhile, the Department of Railways said there could be delays in the railway service due to some railway staff not reporting to work as a result of the fuel crisis. (NewsWire)
