JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake today questioned a letter sent by the IGP to the Defense Secretary warning about a possible bomb attack either in the North, East, or the South from the 5th or 6th of July.

Addressing a special media briefing, MP Dissanayake said that according to the letter, the bomb attack is reportedly set to target the Black Tigers commemoration events to be marked on the said two dates with the involvement of international spy agencies.

Reading excerpts from a document addressed to the Defence Secretary, MP Dissanayake said that the document also warns officials and the public attached to international organizations in the North and East to refrain from participating in any events during this period.

He called on the government to reveal how and from where the information has been obtained, and if there is a possibility of such an attack.

MP Dissanayake further said there is also suspicion that such news is being shared to suppress the anti-government protests and sentiments across the country at present. (NewsWire)
