Presidential hopeful MP Dullas Alahapperuma says a new joint political journey has commenced from today.
Delivering a special statement, he further promised to work to uplift the livelihoods of the people.
Stating that Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa had taken a historical decision to extend his support to him, Alahapperuma said this was to create a new political culture in the country and for the benefit of the people.
Meanwhile, Opposition and Samagi Jana Balawegaya leader MP Sajith Premadasa said he had made the decision in order to reinstate the 19th Amendment to the Constitution that will safeguard the rights of the people.
He further said that he intends to improve the economy of the country and fulfill the wishes of the people.
