The suspect who had stolen the President’s official flag from the President’s Office in Colombo during public protests has been arrested.
The man had stolen the flag after the public stormed and occupied the President’s Office during an anti-government protest on 09th July.
According to the Police, CCTV footage had also been found showing the man walking around with the flag tied around his waist.
Thereafter, a video shared on social media showed that the man had used the flag as a bedspread and also intended to burn it and destroy it.
The Police launched an investigation to apprehend the man based on evidence collected via CCTV footage. (NewsWire)
