Four suspects have been arrested for attacking and setting fire to the houses and party offices of MPs Samanpriya Herath and Kokila Gunawardena during the public unrest on 09th May 2022.
The Police said one suspect has been arrested on charges of setting fire to the party office of MP Samanpriya Herath in Kuliyapitiya.
The suspect who is a 42-year-old resident of Mahalanda was arrested by the Kuliyapitiya Police yesterday.
Meanwhile, three suspects have been arrested for setting fire to MP Kokila Gunawardena’s house and party office, as well as her sibling’s house and a vehicle in the Loluwagoda area.
The suspects aged 19, 22, and 30 years are residents of Loluwagoda and Mirigama and were arrested by the Nalla Police yesterday.
The Kuliyapitiya and Nalla Police are conducting further investigations into the two incidents. (NewsWire)
