President Ranil Wickremesinghe has called for all the political parties to come together to take forward the country, Tourism Minister Harin Fernando said.
Addressing the United National Party’s 76th Anniversary event held yesterday, the Minister said it is crucial for politicians to put the country before their own political parties.
“People are asking for stability in the nation. This is not the journey of Ranil Wickremesinghe alone, this is the journey of the country. He is therefore calling on all to join together as a nation and not separate political parties,” he said.
Minister Harin Fernando also extended his gratitude to the President for enabling the release of former Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake.
He thanked the President for keeping his word and granting a special presidential pardon to Ramanayke who was convicted of contempt of court charges.
Minister Fernando also said that he feels he has comeback to his father referring to attending a UNP meeting.(NewsWire)
