The duplicate copies of birth, death, and marriage certificates issued by the Registrar General’s Department do not consist of a validation period, the Registrar General’s Department has announced.

Issuing a notice, the department said there is a significant increase in requests for duplicate copies to be certified as being valid from 06 months prior.

Stating that there was no validation period for the documents, the Registrar General’s Department said that the Education and Foreign Ministries, and the departments of Immigration and Emigration, and the Registration of Persons have been officially informed in this regard.

The Registrar General’s Department further said a request can only be made to make corrections to duplicate copies of birth, death, and marriage certificates issued by the department. (NewsWire)
