The Administrator of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Samantha Power will undertake an official visit to Sri Lanka.

The US Embassy in Colombo said that Samantha Power will engage in a 2-day official visit.

The Embassy further said that she will arrive in Sri Lanka on Saturday, the 10th of September 2022.

Samantha Power is reportedly set to engage in discussions with several government officials, including a meeting with President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Her visit comes after the US Secretary of the Treasury, Janet Yellen, yesterday informed that the US as a creditor country will participate in restructuring Sri Lanka’s debt.

The US Treasury welcoming President Wickremesinghe’s proposal for a Coordination Platform for Sri Lanka’s official bilateral creditors has urged engagement in this regard. (NewsWire)
