The circular to be issued on providing 05-year no pay leave to state employees exempts staff from certain state sectors, the Ministry of Public Administration revealed.
Secretary to the Ministry M. M. P. K. Mayadunne said that the said leave will not apply to school teachers, health sector employees, and technical services.
He said this circular will be introduced purely for the government to address the issues of excess staff in various institutions.
Stating that it will not apply to essential categories of employees required for the country, the Ministry Secretary added that they are in the process of drafting the circular. (NewsWire)
