One person was killed in a shooting reported near Gurukula Vidyalaya on Railway Road in Peliyagoda last night (14).
The Police suspect that two persons on a motorcycle had opened fire with a pistol at a man walking on the road.
The injured man had been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital after which he succumbed to injuries. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
The Police have found 2 bullet shells, one live and one empty, of a 09 mm pistol at the crime scene.
The cause of the shooting is yet to be found, while the Peliyagoda Police is conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
