A woman has sustained serious injuries after the car she was travelling in had been hit by a train in the Nugegoda area today.
The accident occurred near the Pangiriwatte Railway Station in Nugegoda early this morning.
The woman and her husband who are residents of the area had left their home early this morning and had met with the accident a few minutes after leaving their home.
The car that the couple was travelling in had been hit at the Pangiriwatte railway crossing in Nugegoda by a train plying from Avissawela to Colombo.
The Mirihana Police said the woman who was seriously injured in the accident has been admitted to the hospital. (NewsWire)
