A 20-year-old youth has been arrested by the Illegal Assets Investigation Division for owning two vehicles purchased using illegally earned money.
The Division had launched an investigation into the purchase of a car valued at Rs. 6.5 million and an SUV valued at Rs. 25 million by a resident of Boralesgamuwa.
Investigations have found that the two vehicles had been purchased by the suspect using money that had been illegally earned by his father.
The Illegal Assets Investigation Division arrested the suspect, who is a 20-year-old resident of Boralesgamuwa, yesterday (10).
The suspect will be produced before Hulftsdorp Magistrate’s Court today, while the Illegal Assets Investigation Division is conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
