Colombo businesswoman Thilini Priyamali who was recently remanded over charges of financial misappropriation was handed over to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today.
The Prison Media Spokesman said that Priyamali was handed over to the CID to be taken to four locations for further investigations.
Thilini Priyamali was spotted at the World Trade Centre in Colombo where her office is situated.
She was seen being escorted by both prison and Police officials while at the World Trade Centre.
Priyamali was arrested last week for the financial misappropriation of Rs 226 million, USD 60,000, Australian $100,000, and gold items from a well-known Sri Lankan businessman.
Meanwhile, the public with information and complaints on fraudulent activities related to the case of Thilini Priyamali has been requested to inform the Police.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said information and complaints in this regard can be lodged by the victims and the public to the CID or the nearest Police station. (NewsWire)
