The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) this evening arrested Isuru Bandara, the alleged business partner of Thilini Priyamali, who is the main suspect in a web of high profile frauds being investigated.
Last week, police spokesman SSL Nihal Thalduwa estimated that the alleged frauds being investigated upto now, were in excess of Rs 3.2 billion. Priyamali is accused of defrauding hundreds of businessmen, politicians, civil, religious and political leaders.
When contacted, the Police media unit confirmed his arrest by the CID, but would not comment further.
