A 21-year-old woman has been killed after being shot dead at her residence in the Shiva Nagar area in Nedunkerni last night (18).
The Police said investigations have revealed that the woman had been shot while she had opened the backdoor of her house and stepped onto the porch.
They further said it is suspected that she had been shot by someone who had been hiding close to the house, while the suspect had fled after the shooting.
Stating that the cause of the murder is yet to be ascertained, the Police said the body of the woman has been placed at the Vavuniya Hospital.
The Nedunkerni Police is conducting investigations to apprehend the suspects wanted for the murder. (NewsWire)
