Construction Sector representatives have highlighted the issues faced by them during a special meeting with President Ranil Wickremesinghe today (21).
The President’s Media Division (PMD) said during the meeting, Construction Sector representatives highlighted the issues faced by them as a result of the current economic crisis.
The discussion also focused on delays in the construction of middle-income housing projects, as well as road construction projects, and job security.
The Construction Sector representatives also pointed out the issues faced in relation to banks and other financial institutions.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe highlighted the need to implement programmes enabling the progress of construction projects and ensuring job security.
The PMD said the President informed that further discussions will be held and a committee will be appointed to make recommendations in this regard.
The Construction Sector representatives further requested the President to appoint a Special Task Force to revive the construction industry. (NewsWire)
