A consignment of rice donated by China arrived in Sri Lanka on Tuesday (25), the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka said.
The Embassy said that the consignment consists of 500 Metric Tonnes of rice (50,000 packs).
The rice consignment reached the Colombo Port yesterday via Vessel NAVIOS JASMINE.
The Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka said that the rice will soon be distributed to needy Sri Lankan students.
The Embassy further said that another 500 MT will arrive in Sri Lanka next week.
This brings China’s total aid tally to 6,000 MT of rice, the Chinese Embassy revealed. (NewsWire)
