Dengue : 21 MOH Divisions declared as high-risk zones

21 MOH Divisions in Sri Lanka have been declared as high-risk zones for dengue by the National Dengue Control Unit.

According to Aruna News, an increase in dengue cases has been reported in 09 out of the 21 high-risk MOH Divisions.

The National Dengue Control Unit said Piliyandala, Harispaththuwa, Ukuwela, Badulla, Kegalle, and Mawanella are among the newly declared high-risk zones.

The highest number of dengue patients for the 43rd week of this year has been reported in the Colombo district with a total of 143 patients.

The number of dengue patients reported in Colombo so far this year has increased to 14, 937 in comparison to the 7, 296 patients that were reported during the same period last year.

The National Dengue Control Unit said it is an increase of 7,641 dengue patients.

A total of 62, 435 dengue patients have been reported in Sri Lanka so far this year.

The National Dengue Control Unit said it is an increase of 40, 248 patients in comparison to 2021. (NewsWire)
