The Department of Meteorology says showers or thundershowers will occur in several parts of the country today.
The Department said showers or thundershowers will occur at several places over most parts of the island during the afternoon or night.
Showers may occur in the Northern, North-Western, and Western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts during the morning too.
Heavy showers of about 100mm can be expected at some places in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces and in the Puttalam district.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. (NewsWire)
