Relevant courts have imposed fines on several traders for selling eggs exceeding the maximum retail price.
According to reports, a fine of Rs. 1,020,000 has been imposed on a trader from Avissawella.
This is the highest fine to be imposed thus far in Sri Lanka for selling eggs at a higher price.
A fine of Rs. 100,000 has been imposed on a trader from Dematagoda.
Fines of Rs. 100,000 each have also been imposed on four traders in Anuradhapura. (NewsWire)
