A 14-year-old school student has died due to injuries sustained after the charger of a laptop had exploded while being used at his residence.
According to Ada Derana, the incident had occurred in the Kobeythuduwa area in Batapola, Ambalangoda yesterday.
The Police stated that the deceased is a 14-year-old boy and a resident of Benwala Road in Indhiketiya.
Investigations have revealed that the child had used the laptop which was connected to the charger while balancing it on his hip bone during which the charger had exploded.
The child had been admitted to the Polwatte Hospital after which he had been transferred to the Balapitiya Hospital where he had succumbed to injuries. (NewsWire)
