Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said that the fuel price formula will be implemented once a month and the proposal regarding this will be submitted to the cabinet on Monday.
The Minister made these comments at the 50th anniversary celebration event of the Petroleum Dealers Association on Saturday (19)
“Fuel Price Formula was supposed to be implemented twice a month, on the 1st and 15th of each month. However, it was observed that dealers were not placing orders couple of days before as there will be a financial loss to them” he said addressing the gathering.
“Therefore we have decided to implement the fuel price formula once a month going forward. The proposal regarding this will be submitted to the cabinet on Monday” he further said. (NewsWire)
