Headline inflation decreases to 70.6% in October

The overall inflation, as measured by the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) on a year-on-year basis, decreased to 70.6% in October 2022, the Department of Census and Statistics reported.

The department pointed out that the overall headline inflation has slowed down in comparison to the 73.7% that was recorded in September 2022.

The NCPI for all items for the month of October is 256.9 and an increase of 0.7 index points in comparison to September.

The month-on-month change for October has been recorded as 0.3%.

The Department of Census and Statistics said food inflation has dropped to 80.9% for October, compared to the 85.8% that was recorded in September.
