Sri Lanka will not rule out the possibility of dealing with Russian oil, Foreign Minister Ali Sabry said today (23).
Speaking during an interview with WIONews, the Foreign Minister said that under the current price escalation, Russian fuel is unaffordable for Sri Lanka.
He said that, however, Sri Lanka would consider working with Russia, in the event of discounted prices and if there is no violation of international regulations and norms.
“Discounted price for Russian oil will not be an issue for other countries, as no country wants Russia out of the fuel market. In the event of such an exit, it will result in scarcity and a hike in prices. This will create an economic upheaval,” he added. (NewsWire)
