The 1 1/2-year-old toddler who was thrown from the 3rd floor of a building in Grandpass this morning has succumbed to injuries.
The Police stated that the child had been thrown from the 3rd floor of the Samagipura housing complex in Grandpass this morning.
The child had been admitted to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children in Colombo with serious injuries and had died while receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the child who was sleeping on the bed had been thrown outside the window by his uncle.
The suspect has been identified as the brother of the toddler’s mother and has been arrested over the death.
The Police said the suspect will be produced before the Hulftsdorp Magistrate’s Court today, while the Grandpass Police is conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
