President’s Adviser apologizes to CBSL Governor over false allegations

Adviser to the President on Parliamentary Affairs Professor Ashu Marasinghe has extended his unconditional apology to the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe.

Speaking to the media, Prof. Marasinghe said his recent statement pertaining to the Central Bank Governor was false and he expresses regret over the matter. 

Participating in a pragramme on the Independent Television Network (ITN) last week (23), Ashu Marasinghe alleged that Dr. Weerasinghe was preparing to become the next presidential candidate.

Prof Marasinghe further said that Dr. Weerasinghe has already commenced the necessary propaganda activities in this regard. (NewsWire)
