Term holidays for all government and government-approved private schools in the country commence from tomorrow (02), the Education Ministry said.
The second term of schools drew to an end today (Dec. 01) with the third term scheduled to commence on Monday (Dec. 05).
Accordingly, the commencement and conclusion of the third academic term of schools for the year are as follows:
For Sinhala and Tamil language schools:
- School holidays commence on 2nd December 2022.
- First phase of the third academic term for 2022 commences on 05th December 2022 and concludes on 22nd December 2022.
School holidays from 23rd December 2022 to 1st January 2023 (Christmas)
- Second phase of the third academic term for 2022 is from 02nd – 20th January 2023.
Schools leave from 21st January 2023 to 19th February 2023 (GCE Advanced Level Examination)
- Third phase of the third academic term for 2022 is from 20th February 2023 – 24th March 2023.
For Muslim schools:
- School holidays from 2nd – 4th December 2022.
- First phase of the third academic term for the year 2022 from 5th – 22nd December 2022.
School leave from 23rd December 2022 to 1st January 2023 (Christmas)
- Second phase of the third academic term for the year 2022 from 2nd January to 15th February 2023.
School holidays from 16th to 28th February 2023.
