EIU ranks Colombo among the cheapest cities in the world in 2022

Colombo has been ranked among the least expensive cities in the world, as per the Worldwide Cost of Living Index, which is run by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

According to the latest Worldwide Cost of Living Index, Colombo has been placed among the bottom ten ranks of the cheapest cities in the world. 

With a ranking of 161, Colombo is tied with Bangalore, India, while it is ranked above Chennai and Ahamadabad in India, and Karachi, Pakistan.

As per the Worldwide Cost of Living Index, Damascus, Tripoli, and Tehran have been identified as the cheapest cities, reflecting these countries’ weak economies and currencies.
