A 50-year-old manager of a private bank has been remanded for allegedly sexually abusing a 14-year-old schoolgirl in Colombo.
According to the Daily News, Colombo Additional Magistrate T. N. A. Ilangasinghe yesterday remanded the suspect until 20th December 2022.
The suspect, who is a single parent of two girls, is a resident of Kirulapone and is accused of having sexually molested a 14-year-old student of a leading school in Colombo.
Police investigations have revealed that the suspect had been in contact with the victim for over 3 months and had sexually molested her inside a tinted jeep at public parking lots.
The Bambalapitiya Police said investigations had been initiated based on a complaint filed by the victim’s mother. The victim has been admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital for a medical examination. (NewsWire)
