Convenor of the Inter-University Student’s Federation (IUSF) Wasantha Mudalige who is detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) has been further remanded.
Colombo Additional Magistrate T. N. L. Mahawatte remanded Wasantha Mudalige until tomorrow, 13th December 2022 after he was produced in court today.
The Magistrate has ordered Mudalige to be remanded until receiving the Attorney General’s advice in relation to his case.
Wasantha Mudalige, Ven. Galwewa Siridamma Thero, and another activist were arrested and detained under the PTA for their involvement in anti-government protests.
Ven. Galwewa Siridamma Thera was released on bail on 23rd November, while Wasantha Mudalige remains detained under the PTA for over 90 days. (NewsWire)
