Statements have been recorded from about 23 people regarding the murder of Dinesh Schaffter, Police Media Spokesperson, SSP Nihal Talduwa said.
“Investigations regarding this murder are being carried out on several angles. At present, several teams are working to analyze phone numbers and monitor CCTV footage” he said.
Former cricket commentator Brian Thomas, who was subject of discussion, is among those who have been questioned. Colombo Additional Magistrate’s Court had previously issued an order preventing foreign travel of Brian Thomas.
Dinesh Schaffter, Director of Janashakti Group, was found Thursday (15) evening with his hands and neck tied inside his car at the Borella Cemetery. He succumbed to his injuries on the same night after being hospitalized with critical injuries.
The post-mortem examination conducted on his death revealed that the death was due to strangulation. Dinesh Schaffter’s body has been kept at his residence in Flower Road, Colombo 07. (NewsWire)
