Police arrest suspect who broke into journalist’s house

The Kalutara Crimes Division has arrested the suspect who broke into the house of head of news division at Neth FM radio, Hemantha Kahawalage.

Panadura North Police had received a complaint that early morning on 19th December, the house located in the Panadura area had been broken into through a rear window and gold jewellery had been stolen.

Following the arrest, the police have taken into custody 4 gold rings, a bracelet , 2 pendants, 2 laptops, 2 tabs, a gold bullion, 3 mobile phones, fifty thousand rupees cash, some old currency notes, 10 grams of heroin in possession of the suspect.

The suspect was arrested after investigations were handed over to the Kalutara Crimes Division on the instructions of Senior DIG in charge of Western Province Deshabandu Thennakoon. (NewsWire)
