Sri Lanka former minister Mervyn Silva has visited the controversial model Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) located in Pothuhera, Kurunegala.
During his visit, the former politician inspected the building to identify any similarities with the original Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy.
As the Paththirippuwa was similar to the original Temple of the Tooth Relic, Mervyn Silva issued the main stakeholders behind the construction two weeks’ time to change the design.
Speaking to the media, Marvyn Silva assured that the Paththirippuwa will be changed, adding that there is only one Temple of the Tooth Relic in Sri Lanka and it is found in Kandy.
The Paththirippuwa or Pattirippuwa is an octagonal pavilion and one of three main structures which comprise the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa).
However, the Paththirippuwa of the controversial model Temple of the Tooth Relic located in Kurunegala is being demolished.
According to reports, the demolition commenced this morning. (NewsWire)
