Actor Sudaththa Thilakasiri today carried out a money collection process to help former President Maithripala Sirisena settle the Rs. 100 million compensation to victims of the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.
On Thursday (12), the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka ordered a group of former government officials, including former President Maithripala Sirisena to pay compensation to the victims of the Easter attacks.
Following the court verdict, Sirisena revealed that people dear to him have agreed to help him collect the said amount to pay the compensation.
Thereby, actor Sudaththa Thilakasiri took to the streets today with a till to collect funds to assist Maithripala Srisena.
Sudaththa Thilakasiri was seen walking around with a till collecting money from the public.
It seems the actor has done this in a satirical manner but he was later seen handing over the money to former President Maithripala Sirisena in his house. (NewsWire)
