Another suspect has been arrested in connection to the human organ racket that was uncovered at a private hospital in Borella last year.
The Police had launched investigations into the racket following a number of complaints filed at the Borella Police Station.
The CCD launched investigations into the human organ racket after 04 men and a woman who had fallen victim to the racket had filed complaints at the Borella Police station last year.
It was uncovered that the racket had targeted individuals from poverty-stricken families, mainly to obtain kidneys, and had not settled the agreed payment following the operations.
The CCD yesterday (30) arrested a man who had acted as a broker between the hospital and potential victims.
He has been identified as a 53-year-old resident of Kollonawa, Wellampitiya. The Police have also seized two mobile phones from the suspect’s possession.
The Police stated that the suspect will be produced before the Hulftsdorp Magistrate’s Court today. (NewsWire)
