A driver of a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus has prevented a fatal accident, saving the lives of over 60 passengers.
According to reports, the brakes of the bus had suddenly failed while the vehicle was travelling in the Viharagala area in Beragala last morning (30).
The driver of the bus, which was travelling from Badulla to Colombo, had managed to prevent the bus from falling into a 500-meter precipice.
He had diverted the bus which was being pulled towards the precipice into a drain on the opposite side of the road instead, causing the vehicle to stop.
It is reported that 60 passengers had been onboard the bus at the time of the incident. (NewsWire)
