US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland arrived in Sri Lanka on an official state visit.
Victoria Nuland was received by US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung upon her arrival today.
Ambassador Chung stated that Nuland’s visit will mark the 75th anniversary of US-SL diplomatic relations.
She further said Nuland’s visit will highlight US support for Sri Lanka’s ongoing reforms to foster economic prosperity, protect human rights, and promote reconciliation.
According to the President’s Media Division (PMD), US Under-Secretary for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland met President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Presidential Secretariat this morning (1).
The PMD stated that during the discussions, the President thanked the US Government for their support during difficult times.
Responding, Under-Secretary Nuland pledged the US Government’s support for Sri Lanka’s ongoing recovery efforts. (NewsWire)
