Two Army personnel have been arrested over the accidental firing of a firearm in the Halgahakumbura area on Baseline Mawatha, Borella during a raid yesterday in which a 25-year-old woman was killed.
The Police stated that the Army personnel had attempted to arrest a suspect during which one officer’s weapon had accidentally discharged injuring a female bystander.
The woman had died after being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital. She has been identified as a 25-year-old resident of the Halgahakumbura area on Baseline Mawatha, Borella.
The Borella Police has arrested the two Army Personnel over the shooting incident and is conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
