An individual has died in a motor accident reported in the Kottawa area on the Southern Expressway.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Akmeemana, Galle.
A female Russian national who was travelling in the car at the time of the accident has been admitted to the Homaga Hospital with injuries.
The Police stated that the car had crashed into a lorry that had been parked by the side of the road on the expressway due to a technical fault.
Investigations have revealed that the accident had occurred when the driver of the car was on the way to drop the Russian national at the airport from Galle.
