The United National Party (UNP) will form a new alliance with a group of members from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), Minister of Tourism Harin Fernando revealed.
Addressing an event, the minister stated that the new UNP- led alliance will be unveiled within a week or two.
“The President and I have no intentions of breaking up the SJB. I could have easily taken along several SJB members when I left the party. However, President Ranil Wickremesinghe advised me not to do so,” he said.
Minister Harin Fernando further stated that, however, he had informed the President now it was time to accept those who are willing to crossover. (NewsWire)
