Police investigations have been launched to apprehend a suspect who had received over Rs. 2.6 million by threatening a woman with sharing nude photos of her.
According to Lankadeepa, the suspect had threatened to share the nude photos on social media and with the victim’s husband, prompting her to deposit money into the suspect’s bank account on multiple occasions.
Investigations have revealed that the woman, who is a government officer and a resident of Kuliyapitiya had been involved in an extra-marital affair during which she had shared nude photos of herself with her paramour.
The Police stated that the suspect had threatened the woman since 2019 from which time until now she had been forced to deposit money into the suspect’s bank account.
The woman is reported to have filed a complaint with the Sri Sripura Police after which a probe has been launched to apprehend the suspect. (NewsWire)
