According to State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Sri Lanka is expected to receive the initial portion of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout package totaling US$ 2.9 billion soon.
The first tranche of US$ 320 million could potentially be disbursed within the next two weeks. Siyambalapitiya stated that the IMF Executive Committee is set to convene on March 20 at 10 pm US time to make a decision regarding Sri Lanka.
He also said that the decision will be announced 8.30 am tomorrow (21).
