The Department of Meteorology says thundershowers can be expected in several parts of Sri Lanka today.
Thereby, showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Southern, North-Western and North-Central provinces during the afternoon or night.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places elsewhere during the afternoon or night as well.
The public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kankasanthurai to Galle via Mannar, Puttalam and Colombo during the night today.
