A 52-year-old man who had attempted to throw acid at his daughter has been hospitalized along with his daughter with serious burn injuries, the Bulathsinghala Police stated.
According to Lankadeepa, the Police stated that the man was severely addicted to alcohol and had constantly harassed his daughter, a mother of two, and other family members.
The 25-year-old daughter has also been admitted to the hospital with burn injuries as a result of the acid attack.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the suspect is an employee of a rubber factory and may have stolen acid from the factory to carry out the attack. (NewsWire)
